Sales and Operations Staff Member – One of Sweden's Largest Second Hand Stores in Uppsala

The core Red Cross work is carried out by over 25,000 volunteers in approximately 300 local branches spread across the country. At the Red Cross second hand store in Uppsala, you will take on significant responsibility in an operation where every contribution helps – locally and globally.
About Us
The Red Cross second hand store in Uppsala is one of Sweden's largest, with approximately 1,200 visitors every day. The operation is run by dedicated employees together with over 150 volunteers. Here, donations are transformed into concrete support for people in vulnerable situations.
About the Role
This is an operational and varied role where you are a key part of the daily operations. You combine active work in the store with responsibility for logistics and coordination of daily tasks.
You contribute to sales, structure, and ensuring the operation runs smoothly – every day.
Your Responsibilities
Sales and Store Operations
- Work in the store with sales, cash register duties, and receiving donations
- Contribute to a positive customer experience and a well-functioning store
Logistics
- Be responsible for the pickup and delivery of donations
- Plan and ensure an efficient flow of goods
Coordination and Supervision
- Coordinate daily work together with volunteers
- Introduce and support new volunteers
- Contribute to staffing, structure, and working methods
Development and Follow-up
- Monitor sales and contribute to improvements
- Work actively with order, working environment, and quality
We are looking for someone who has
- Experience from retail and sales
- Ability to work operationally while keeping the big picture in mind
- Experience coordinating or leading others in daily tasks
- Category B driver's license (manual transmission) and experience driving larger vehicles
- Good command of Swedish (spoken and written) and basic computer skills
Meritorious qualifications:
- Experience in non-profit operations
- Familiarity with business or logistics systems
- Knowledge of lifting techniques

Other
- The work involves some physical strain
- You must be able to provide a certificate of good conduct (extract from the Swedish Police Authority's register)
